It turns out, Ft. Sill isn’t so bad. Just north of post there’s the Witchita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. The hurricane strength winds died down enough this weekend that I could go to Mt. Scott, the highest point in the area.

Check out all my pictures from Mt. Scott
If you’re stuck going to BOLC II at Ft. Sill, it’s a good place to check out.

Two weeks done, five more to go. So far it’s been pretty easy training, it’s relaxed and we get a lot of free time compared to OCS. I’ve already completed most of my requirements to graduate from BOLC II. I’ve passed the initial APFT, I’ve had two leadership positions already and I’ve qualified with my M4 with CCO. We’ll be staying in the field for the next four weeks. It shouldn’t be too bad, the FOB we’re staying at has electricity and running water.
Next week we’re doing land navigation. Hopefully I don’t lose my compass this time.

Later this week, I’ll be driving to Ft. Sill, OK to attend BOLC II. It’s a seven week, infantry based training where officers from all commissioning sources (ROTC, West Point, and OCS) train together for the first time. I’m way too lazy to update this blog with my fun times at Ft. Sill, but you can assume I’ll be having a great time living in barracks again and wrestling 4 hours a day.
If you want to stay up to date on all my activities while I’m there, follow me on Twitter.
